Houston PetSet Friends,

We hope that you are recovering well after a very challenging few days. We know that many of you faced extended periods without power and water, and unfortunately the historic winter storm did not spare our animal companions.

This week, our partners at Fort Bend County Pets – Fort Bend County Animal Services were facing a critical issue – the water supply for the hundreds of animals they care for became extremely limited.

Knowing that these pets were in dire need of rescue, we worked around the clock to plan a lifesaving journey with our friends at The Babinski Foundation.

Yesterday, The Babinski Foundation team traveled 1,355 miles from Pequot Lakes, Minnesota to Rosenberg, Texas to deliver FBCAS a pallet of water, compliments of Costco, and rescue 26 animals from FBCAS.

This morning, we were thrilled to help see these deserving dogs off on their journey to forever homes. We thank The Babinski Foundation for continually demonstrating a commitment to the otherwise unwanted pets of our community. We could not do this work #ForTheAnimals without their partnership.

As Texans face the damages from the storm, we know that many pets will be at risk of being surrendered. Our transport program directly impacts animals in the local shelters, and we would truly appreciate any and all donations so that we can continue to provide cats and dogs with a second chance at life.
