Delta’s Story

October 22nd, 2020

This little girl, Delta, is a 12-week-old Yorkie mix that was found running loose in a rural area of Louisiana. She has so many angels watching over her! She was found and delivered her to Iberville Parish Shelter and Animal Control outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Megan, who works with a rescue that works with the shelter, posted videos on Facebook and a plea for help. Dr. Meghann (a former AOH employee who moved to Turks and Caicos) saw the post and connected Megan with Angel of Hope in Anoka, Minnesota. Angel of Hope then coordinated getting this pup on a Houston PetSet transport, and she was driven from Baton Rouge to Houston, where the dog is now being fostered by the amazing Shannon Von Eiff!

It is not yet know if this girls disabilities are related to trauma or a birth defect. She has open fontanelles and bilateral lateral strabismus. Her vision is impaired (she turns to one eye to see you), but she is still a happy energetic puppy despite her deficiencies. Thank you to everyone involved for making another success story possible, #ForTheAnimals!
